This multiple polo wearing, collar popping lover of life had the energy and charisma to make being his friend and teammate a worthwhile endeavor. Chris graduated from St. John’s University and immediately joined fellow St. Johns Alumni Alan Whelan and Dennis Martin in helping to found and solidify the Village Lions way back in 1989. His lust for life was evident as much then as it is now. Chris made being a member of the club a joy. From the rugby pitch to the bar to the following day’s brunch he epitomized the Village Lions.

The Lions took the league by storm in the early years. During that period Chris played on and off the pitch with fervor and tenacity. But, it was in the dark days of 1993-1994 when the Lions descended to the depths of the league tables that Chris proved his mettle. When all around him were losing their heads and quietly planning to move to other clubs, Chris held firm to his love of the club and his teammates and with the assistance of several others helped save this club so that it could fulfill its promise. In return, Chris met people from all over the world. This he enjoyed so much that he packed it all in and spent several years riding motorcycles across the globe with his wife. In that time he made many new friends and represented the Village Lions wherever he went.

Chris now lives in Boulder Colorado where he is a highly successful real estate salesman. Of course, he comes back for Family and Friends day each year and stays true to his love or rugby and the desire to serve his sport as a referee.
