The Village Lions RFC will be celebrating 30 years this May! We hope as many current and former players, coaches and fans can join in the celebrations from Friday-Sunday, May 10-12.
The celebration kicks off Friday afternoon at the current club’s bar, Gramercy Ale House, before migrating to the Red Lion – where it all began! Saturday is a rugby day, and games will occur on Randall’s Island Field 74, and then Chelsea Piers hosts the big gala event beginning Saturday evening. Revelry will continue at Fiddlesticks, and then we’ll sip our wounds away during Sunday brunch at the Lions-owned Douglass. See the “General & Gala Schedules” below for full details.
Tickets for the gala are available on our ticket page. There is a discounted rate available for current players. The $225 ticket price is the standard rate and for $250, guest can purchase tickets that include premium seating, program mention and/or Lions swag. Donations are also encouraged as we continue to grow the Village Lions RFC for the next 30 years!
A special line of 30th merchandise has been curated, but these items are “on demand,” meaning they’ll only be produced if minimums are met by the deadlines. See below for more info.
We are also collecting Lions photos over the years. We have started a Google Photos Folder; please upload any pictures you have and/or add comments and details to the pictures in the site. You can find the link on the Gallery page.
More details on the 30th Anniversary weekend are forthcoming, including a schedule of events, opportunities to buy 30th anniversary Lions swag and info on happy hour specials, but if you have any questions in the interim, please reach out to Renee.
