The Village Lions Old Boys squad is heading to Cuba in 2020 for the Copa de Amistad II Rugby Veterans International Tournament
Copa de Amistad is an Over-35 tournament with 12 teams competing across two pools from March 20th to 25th. Three days of games played in Havana and Vinales over 5 days (the 20th is an arrival and welcome party day).
Adding to the club’s rich culture of international rugby tours, this will be the 18th international tour across all Lion’s programs.
Copa de Amistad is a not-for-profit supporting Cuban Rugby and Cuban environmental projects.
The participant price $300 includes registration, souvenir kit, entry to Welcome and Farewell Parties, donation to Cuban environmental causes and…wait for it…a horse ride in Vinales! Airfare and accommodation are separate, and we’ll coordinate trying to get group rates, arrival / departure times, etc.
Players must be 35 years of age or older on 20 March 2020 and have arranged their own personal injury and accident insurance.
Reach out to the Old Boy captain Terry Buechner (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details and to sign up for the tour.
