Match report from Referee Brad Kleiner
Played in 3 30 minute periods to get all the reserves some time. Also played at East Harlem Park due to limits at Randalls on the day. Field was artificial but a too narrow for regular use for rugby. Whether due to the narrow field or tactics, the Lions did a lot of side to side dancing around with the ball, causing too many passes going to ground and limited go forward movement. Syracuse played a tighter game in the forwards and used their 12 and 15 well to break open on attack. Reserves came on and penalties went up, especially tackler holding on by the Lions. Otherwise played in good spirits on a mild, sunny afternoon.
