Village Lions Rugby Football Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of rugby union in the greater New York City area.
Contributing to our community is of great importance to our club. We’ve volunteered our time to help clean and rebuild following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy both at Randall’s Island Park and Breezy Point, Queens, one of the worst-hit areas of the city.
Each year, we support our friend/teammate Martin Codyre (Cod) and his work to support those with spinal cord injuries through his involvement with the organization Unite 2 Fight Paralysis with our annual Halloween bash. A portion of the money raised from the night goes toward supporting the organization’s ongoing efforts to end SCI.
We donate our unused food items to the Bowery Mission following our annual Friends & Family Day event.
We’ve also assisted with the Play Rugby USA Mayor’s Cup.
The Lions share compassion for our neighbors in any way we can. If you have a volunteer opportunity that you’d like to share, please email Cat Sum at firstname.lastname@example.org
