At The Tournament:
fusion Physical Therapy & Sports Wellness will provide a direct contact for parents and players by becoming a presence on the field during practices and tournaments as well as holding seminars for the players to enhance their performance. Fusion’s seminars will be designed to educate players on new levels that include Sports performance, injury prevention and proper nutrition as well as create a direct contact to the medical field for the players and parents where they can go with their questions and concerns.
Services fusion will offer on the field include:
Ice: Ice packs – icing is most effective in the immediate period following an injury. Applying ice in addition to elevating the injured body part above your heart reduces both swelling and inflammation post injury.
Athletic Taping: Support taping to prevent injury during play.
Kinesio Taping: Kinesio tape is a patented stretchy tape that serves as multi-purpose tool to decrease pain, facilitate or inhibit muscle function, correct fascia alignment, and create space under the skin to alleviate swelling, inflammation or irritation.
Active Release Technique (ART): ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. The ART provider will use his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

Alter-G: The Alter-G G-Trainer treadmill uses state of the art technology developed by NASA to allow athletes to achieve full range of motion that reproduces the effects of walking or running on a treadmill, while eliminating the harsh effects that impact can have on the body. An air pressured chamber below the waist creates an environment where the user has the ability to manipulate their own body weight so that they ‘de-weight’ themselves in 1% increments to as low as 20% of their actual body weight. The Alter-G serves the needs of everyone from post-surgical patients with weight bearing limitations, stroke victims or brain injured patients with compromised ambulation, overweight and obese patients benefiting from movements with drastically reduced stress on joints, to competitive athletes who want to avoid the affects of overtraining or chronic pain. Give us a call for a free trial!
MRS: Monitored Rehabilitation Systems is an interactive rehabilitation and strength training tool which allows us to increase motor control, strength, coordination and proprioception utilizing both isometric and dynamic activities. The MRS allows for baseline testing as well as tracking the client’s progress throughout their rehabilitation program.
Game Ready: An ice machine that simultaneously applies intermittent compression and adjustable cold therapy to deliver the two most difficult-to-manage aspects of the RICE regimen in one easy-to-use treatment system.
Personal Training: fusion offers both one-on-one personal training sessions as well as semi-private small group sessions with NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Personal training sessions include initial testing to determine a client’s baseline physical fitness level which is then used to personalize a program tailored to meet the goals of each client.
Wellness Program: fusion offers a wellness membership to a gym that is filled with a variety of state of the art equipment all under one roof. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) will sit down and discuss your fitness needs/goals and plan out a program specifically for you. Being a fusion wellness member allows you full access to equipment while being under the same roof as a multitude of healthcare professionals to answer any questions that you might have.
History of fusion Physical Therapy & Sports Wellness, PC
Fusion Physical Therapy & Sports Wellness is owned and operated by Dr. Carolyn Mazur, PT, DPT. Located in the West Village at 407 West 13th Street, NY, NY fusion is renown in the treatment of athletic injuries. Fusion was created out of the idea that in order for an individual to achieve the highest level of success from rehabilitation, essential components from client and practitioner were needed.
The client components include, consistency, in the form of regularly attending physical therapy, determination to want to improve one’s wellness, and above all, confidence in your physical therapist, who will lead you back to an independent lifestyle.
The practitioner components include knowledge, experience and compassion. But, the single most important formula our expert therapists deliver is the “fusion” of these key ingredients to achieve the highest level of success.
WE GUARANTEE “PLATINUM LEVEL OF CARE” FOR ALL OF OUR PATIENTS!
