The Village Lions RFC is searching for a new Head Coach for its Women’s XVs program.

We’re hiring a Head Coach to guide us through the 2019 playoff run and beyond! The Village Lions are a NYC-based club, and we’re looking for a Head Coach excited to play an active role in the burgeoning coaching culture we’ve been cultivating. Ideally, our new coach will have formal training/certification in coaching and a track record of success!

Head coach roles and responsibilities will include: strength and conditioning plans, development of both player skills and decision-making skills, match strategy, and training/practice plans. Our head coach should be ready to seek out best practices and innovative approaches in XVs rugby and bring those to the team. The Village Lions RFC has numerous resources available, including a pool of trainee club coaching assistants, Tiger Rugby, and coaching staff from Rugby United NY, the professional club in New York City.

The Spring pre-season will begin in February and the season will run to May. The Fall League Season starts in August and runs to November. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Bronx (Mott Haven), with matches on Randall’s Island. A generous stipend is provided, plus travel to matches, and a performance-based bonus.

Ready to apply? Please provide the following:

Your rugby CV and references.
The outline of your coaching program for the XVs pre-season, season and post-season.
A sample plan for one or more XV’s training sessions.
Your vision for how you would move our program to the next level.
Applications should be sent to the Village Lions, care of John Greally:
