The Village Lions RFC announces the appointment of Koma Gandy Fischbein as the Head Coach of the Women’s Sevens program.

New York, New York – June 5, 2017 – Joining the Lions with a wealth of experience, both as a former elite-level athlete within the USA Rugby Program, and through her involvement with the Northeast Academy as well as a recent appointment as the Head Coach, All-Navy Men’s Rugby Program, Koma joins the emerging Lions Men’s Sevens program.

 When asked why she wanted to bring her experience to the Lions, she said she was drawn to “the commitment of the club and the team to an atmosphere of continuous improvement. The Lions have a fantastic history and a very strong and positive team culture, and I was excited about the opportunity to become part of this program.” Director of Rugby, Megan Collins said,

The Village Lions RFC is based in New York City, founded in 1989, with the addition of the Women’s program in 2000. The Lions field five competitive sides within the Empire Geographic Union, under the auspices of USA Rugby, Inc. – Men’s 15s (D2 &D3), Men’s 7s, Women’s 15s (DI) and Women’s 7s.
