Men's 15s
Promoted to D3Division III of the Empire Geographic Union, promoted for the 2026 season.
About the side
The Men's 15s compete in Division III of the Empire Geographic Union after a 24-point comeback capped the 2026 spring season and earned the side promotion.
The side's history runs deep. The early Lions took the Met NY union by storm, winning the third division in 1991 and the Division II title a year later, and spent a season in the top flight in 1993. They took the Met NY title in 2002 under coach Paddy Bartlett, then climbed out of Division II in 2010 under coach Expo Mejia, smashing Boston's Middlesex club 39-13 in the Northeast Championship before a 35-33 loss to Doylestown in the National Sweet 16.
Under head coach Andrew Britt the Lions reached the national stage again in 2016, running the table in the playoffs including a 37-19 Atlantic North title match against the Mystic Barbarians. In Pittsburgh they beat Wilmington 21-7 in the Sweet 16, then lost in overtime to the Detroit Tradesmen after leading for 79 of the first 80 minutes.
Today the side plays in the Empire Division of EGU Division III. It trains mostly at Mott Haven Educational Campus in the Bronx, with East River Park in the East Village as the alternate ground, and plays its matches on Randall's Island. A player joining midseason can expect a competitive, winning side and a club culture built on camaraderie, respect, pride in the club and pride in each other.

Lions at Queens Rugby
Match report
Queens led 21-12 at the break, and the Lions had already lost a man to the bin. The second half turned on discipline: three Queens players followed him off, and the Lions used the extra room.
Jason Morris and Geraldo Febles scored two tries each, Tyrell Wilson and Charles Brown one apiece. Guillermo Rangel converted four of them and kicked a penalty, and on a one-point margin that penalty is the game.
41-40 away from home, and the club's first league points of the season.
